Local Producers

"Forgetting how to hoe the earth and care for the land means forgetting oneself"

It all began in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic from the imagination and dedication of two young lovers: Desi and Davide.

The project was born out of their shared love for the land, inherited from their respective grandparents to whom they have wanted and still want "a lot of good."

Their ideal of a sustainable farm and agriculture reflects their grandparents, their times, and how they worked the land, ensuring the natural cycle of rotations, in full respect of nature and the entire animal world. It was precisely this behavior, this "ancient technique" that gave rise to healthy and genuine products.

So Desi and Davide's goal is to go back in time and try to bring to the table a product as natural as possible, cultivated in the old peasant way.

"La Vigna di Desi" extends between the municipalities of Rapolano and Asciano, for over 30 hectares, divided between olive groves, fields dedicated to cereal activity, legumes, and saffron production. And it is precisely in the plot of land intended for the cultivation of "red gold" that some bee communities have found a home, reciprocating the loving hospitality with clear and delicious honey.

The products are mostly intended for processing and packaging, such as black chickpeas, pearled barley, lentils, and spelt (ideal for soups and more), saffron, honey, and Tuscan EVO oil.

Everything is carefully selected to ensure the best final result, also by researching and discovering eco-sustainable and recyclable packaging every day.

Desi and Davide's enthusiasm for this "adventure" is contagious, even though the beginnings suggest a minimum of caution. "However, we firmly believe in this type of agriculture - they confide in their friends - we know that the road will be uphill, but at the same time, we see that people try to have healthy and genuine products in their shopping bags every day. And it is to meet this need, which is also ours, that we are constantly looking for ideas, projects, and products to offer on all of our tables.
